The dichotomy of this story used to be that countries where drugs are produced suffer the imposition of laws by those countries where they are consumed. But now's that's shifting. As economies grow in Latin America, and people have more to spend, the consumption of drugs is also increasing rapidly. http://www.elciudadanoweb.com/?p=72481
The same is true of Afghanistan: http://www.afghanistan-un.org/2010/06/unodc-reports-major-drug-abuse-in-afghanistan/I'd like to see more about this shift from drug producing to drug consuming countries

Divja Gupta writes how climate change is effecting the water levels in the rivers in Kashmir, which in turn is "creating massive water, livelihood and power related instability on both sides of the Line of Control." It would be great to see a more in-depth story on the effects of climate change on this conflict.

Child labor is a serious issue in so many countries, but there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it. Video PitchFirst open-air jail in central India
The first open-air jail in Central India, which allows prisoners to live with their families, became functional last month.
Built in an area of 17 hectares at a cost of US $ 7,42,000 , the prison, the first of its kind in the area, presently houses only 25 selected prisoners.
The jail also has facilities for providing education to children of the prisoners to help them lead normal lives in the prison premises. Employment-oriented programmes which can help prisoners become skillful and take up jobs upon being released are also being run in the jail.
