      • Child labor is a serious issue in so many countries, but there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it. If you buy from companies that employ child labor, you're rewarding them for doing so, but if you don't buy from them, the children will be out of a job and unable to help their families. How do you help?

      • Video PitchShould Children Participate In Reality TV?

        Children are often seen on Israeli TV, in reality shows like "Super Nanny" or "A Star is Born".
        The Israeli parliament's Committee of Child Protection (C.C.P.) claims participation in reality TV invades the child's privacy & hurts inner family relations. But many parents encourage their kids to be on reality TV, believing it'll lead to success.
        The C.C.P. is interested in legally regulating the participation of children in reality TV. They face strong opposition from the TV industry (kids=high TV ratings) and from parents.
        Should children being protected? Or should the state not interfere?

        Era un tormento saber como miles de niños trabajaban, se enfermaban y hasta morian trabajando en minas artesanales de oro en la provincia de Morona Santiago, el auge de esta triste actividad fue los años 80 y 90, sin embargo un sacerdote de orígen polaco, sobreviviente de la segunda guerra mundial, en la cuidad de Zamora, logró convencer a los padres de los niños mineros crear escuelas cerca de las minas donde trabajaban... hoy ese es el mejor ejemplo de rescate a estos pequeños, quienes cuentan ya con escuelas y colegios mineros, donde incluso les enseñan minería pero de una forma técnica...

        • Este es un buen ejemplo de cómo un tema controversial puede también tener una buena cara. Ojalá existan videos -¿películas? y/o fotos, que te permitan mostrar ese pasado inhumano, que es similar a la realidad que todavía existe en muchos de nuestros países.

        Inescrupulosos familiares negocian con los padres de los niños para llevarlos a trabajar en las grandes ciudades, a cambio de un porcentaje de las ganancias, organizan un grupo de unos 20 niños y se lanzan a los semáforos a pedir limosna, principalmente en épocas de navidad.

          • Si definitivamente, hay detectados pueblos donde se realiza esta práctica, las autoridades tienen estadisticas y casos concretos identificados, donde se habla de mafias en torno al trabajo infantil, ellos han lanzado un programa para evitar que los transeuntes den dinero a los pequeños...

          Nada más una reflexión: hay que tener mucho cuidado en el tratamiento del problema, para que no terminemos haciendo un episodio más de "pornomiseria", es decir, de exposición sensacionalista de la situación que enfrentan estos niños. Buena suerte

        India- we could easily see children daily raising their hands before strangers and most of the time they are screamed at. These beggars are just another group of harassed victims of a bonded life.
        More than money, these children expect compassion towards their tragic lives so that they could be rescued from vicious circle of poverty.
        Most begging children don’t actually have a choice. They just have to work irrespective of fever or any other disease. Teenager girl beggars suffer the worst. Be it a lorry-driver or the notorious traffic policeman, all look at them with bad intention.

        There is a disturbing rise in child abuse cases in Pakistan. Every day, on an average 3.9 children is sexually assaulted here and the figure excludes abductions. Most of these children are abused by someone they know and trust, like a relative, family friend or a caretaker. But there are also cases where unfamiliar people are found guilty of abuse of minors. According to Authorities, the reason is lack of proper law enforcement, negligence of parents and lack of awareness among the children and the society. The purpose of the story is to know the root cause and get insight of the issue.

He is one of several children caught in the trap who do not question that they should work. School is supposed to be free but it isn't- mainly because teachers are so badly paid they find things to charge for. Then there are uniforms and books to be bought so no work = no education

        It’s about young Maasai children who brace the scorching sun and even torrential rains in Ruai one of the fast growing suburbs in Nairobi to looking after their parents cattle numbering in hundreds. This story will stand out because most Maasai people, by having their children graze their animals, are unaware of infringing child rights- to them it’s a way of life.
